Getting Started

By default, the program creates a shortcut in the NetBattle group in your Start menu.

To create your first team, click the Open Team Builder button, or File/New.

The first page allows you to enter your trainer information.  This includes:

  • User Name - Try to pick something unique - the server password-protects the player names.

  • Version - decides which set of graphics to use for your Pokémon.

  • Extra Info - A short blurb of text that appears in the challenge window.

  • Win - Text that automatically appears when you win a battle.

  • Lose - Test that automatically appears when you lose a battle.

The other six tabs allow you to enter the information for your six Pokémon.  Select the species you want from the list on the left.  If you click the Rebuild button, it will automatically generate a Max Gene Pokémon.

If you click the Expert button, a window will appear that lets you choose DVs, and lets you know the final stats, gender, Hidden Power, and whether or not the Pokémon will be shiny.

As you fill in the Pokémon information, the Pokéball icons will change to show you that the Pokémon is ready for battle.  When all six Pokémon are ready, click Done to get back to the main screen, or Save to save the team for future use.
(Slight change in 0.8.36 - GS moves will appear bold in the listings)

NOTE: Once you have a team saved, recent files will appear on the File menu on the main screen.  You can use that, or the Open menu item to reload the team without opening the team builder.

You may also want to set up your options now.  If you press the Stored Password button, it will save a user password so you don't get prompted when you connect to the server.
